Garage Door Top Seal

At the top of any garage door, there is a significant risk of heat or cooling loss. To combat this issue, this product serves as an excellent option. The line drawing of this product shows that the 3/4" wide leading edge is made of a sturdy PVC material that is bonded to a flexible 1-3/4" vinyl material.

When installed on the top of the door, the hard PVC portion of the seal is affixed to the door's top. As the door is closed, the 1-3/4" vinyl seal bends back to make contact with the structure's header. This creates a tight seal, which is often used alongside side seals mounted on the exterior of the door.

Alternatively, the product can be installed on the outside of the door's header, offering another installation option. In this scenario, the hard PVC portion of the weather seal is attached underneath the top of the opening. When the door is closed, the 1-3/4" vinyl flap folds and seals against the door effectively.

For even greater protection, both options can be combined by installing the product on both the top and outside of the door, creating a double seal. This provides one of the best seals possible for a garage door. Even when exterior weather seals are present, it is recommended to install this seal on the inside of the door's top.

Additionally, this weather seal is ideal for custom weather seal projects. The versatility of the hard PVC portion allows for various custom applications. It has been successfully used as a side seal, on sliding doors, and in situations where there is an air gap.
